Community Service
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
- Winston Churchill
Weintraub & Alper Legal embraces the above philosophy and believes
that volunteering and serving the needs of those around us in our communities
is paramount to a healthy, productive and compassionate society.
When a person is facing a
DUI or other criminal offense, the judge may order that individual to perform
community service as part of his or her sentence.
Basically, community service is volunteer work performed for local governments or Georgia nonprofit agencies. Every case is different and each will be evaluated to determine the number of hours that will need to be performed by that defendant and the timeframe within which the community service is to be completed. Below are a few organizations that court ordered community service may be completed at.
